Salutary Neglect

Unwritten British policy where trade laws weren't enforced if the colonies remained loyal and as long as they made money, due to the long distance from the colonies.

Debtors

People who owe money to the crown (king in England).

Enlightenment

Movement that emphasized reaser over tradition.

Unalienable Rights

Rights that are guaranteed and cannot be taken away.

Hierarchy

System Organization in which people / groups are categorized one on top of another based on status or authority.
