Attribute of God (Tozer Definition)
Whatever God has in any way revealed as being true of Himself, representing an aspect of how God is.
Attribute of God (Walvoord Definition)
A property intrinsic in God by which God is distinguished or identified, without which He would not appear to be what He is.
Divine Simplicity
The attribute stating that God has no parts and that all of His attributes are eternally, infinitely, and fully active in total unity at all times.
Wrath of God
God's active retributive response and resolute action in punishing sin, operating as a slow, reasoned, and holy hostility against all evil.
Retributive Justice
The subcategory of God's righteousness and justice wherein He punishes those who are not righteous and who have not been declared righteous through Christ.
Mercy of God
The divine kindness by which God withholds the penalty and judgment that sinners justly deserve.
Grace of God
The unmerited favor by which God gives sinners good gifts and righteousness that they do not deserve.
Compassion of God
The attribute by which God sees miserable sinners in their pitiable condition and moves toward them in care.
Mercy Seat (Exodus 25:17)
The cover placed over the law inside the Ark of the Covenant where blood was sprinkled annually, signifying God withholding deserved judgment in anticipation of Christ's blood.
Holiness of God
God's transcendent state of being completely set apart from sin, unsusceptible to evil, devoted to His own honor, and possessing absolute purity.
Triplicate Attribute
The unique repetition of God's holiness spoken in threefold declaration ('holy, holy, holy') by angels in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4.
Omnipotence of God
The attribute stating that God can do anything He wills to do that is consistent with His perfect character and perfections.
Omniscience of God
God's complete, intuitive, and non-deliberative knowledge of all actualities, potentialities, future events, and variables.
Omnipresence of God
The attribute stating that God exists everywhere in His entirety without spatial, physical, or size limitations.
