Selective compliance, stuff in z axis, repeatable, fast

Scara cons

Only operates in X,Y plane, limited working volume, cylindrical working volume is complex, payloads can be limited if full operating speed required

Cartesian pros

Able to carry out fastener operations, made from linear axis so can provide large working volumes, can support significant payloads, good repeatably

Cartesian cons

Limited compliance in x,y plane, slowest robot

Anthropomorphic pros

Very flexible, able to do multiple tasks

Anthropomorphic cons

Stiffness is limited, spherical working volume is complex, slow, middling repeatability

Delta pros

Good repeatability

Delta cons

Limited in z axis, limited payload, limited stiffness in z axis
