Civil rights movement

Fought to end racial discrimination. Brown v. Board of Education (1954): The Supreme Court declared school segregation unconstitutional. There were many nonviolent protests, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, sit-ins, freedom rides, and the march on Washington. Chicano Movement, Native American Movement (AIM), Women’s Liberation, and LGBTQ+ rights drew inspiration from civil rights activism.
