Edge of a network. Hosts.

Router

Connects different computer networks and directs data traffic between them.

Switch

Connects devices inside the same network. (LAN)

Uses MAC.

Wireless router

All-in-one combines the functions of a router, a switch, and a wireless access point (AP) into a single box.

Central hub of most SOHOs connecting all your devices to the internet.

Access point

Extend wireless network access.

Acts as a bridge to the network.

Hub

Basic connector that sends data to all devices. Causes collision.
