During final months of JQA rqaised dutys up to 40% southerners were very upset as they imported modt of their goods

Jackson didnt really care but his vice president John C calhoun hated it

He called it the tariff of abominations

Cqalhoun argued if a state judged a federal law to be unconstitutional they could treat it as if it didnt exsist

Calhoun and others in south carolina threatened to seseat from the union so jackson creatred the force buill which was like yo let me bring my army and be like wsp

With this threat calhoun backed of and asked if they could reduce the tariff and it so wasbut they nullified the force bill

Jackson saw it as a kmeans to prop up the wealthy and do harm to the lower class so when th bill came to his desk he vetoed it

The case became known as Worcester V Georgia anf the supreme court sided with the cherokees they had no right to apply state laws in their territory
