what does R stand for
in HVAC, R stands power and for refrigerant, which is the fluid used in cooling systems to transfer heat
what does G stand for in thermostat
letter G stands for Fan. It controls the indoor blower fan relay in your furnace or air handler, turning the fan on and off or keeping it running continuously when set to the "ON" position rather than "AUTO
what does Y stand for
in a thermostat, Y stands for Cooling. It signals the air conditioning system to turn on when cooling is required.
what does W stand for
in a thermostat, W stands for Heating. It signals the heating system to turn on when heat is required.
what does C stand for
c stands for common
what does RC stand for
RC stands for transformer
what does YC stands for
YC stands for contractor
what does GC stand for
GC stands for Fan Relay
what does WC stand for
WC stands for heat sequencer

refrigerant cycle in order

what is this and what does it do
its a COMPRESSOR it pressurizes low pressure vapor into high pressure vapor but it also causes the temp of gas to increases as a stated in gas law

what is this and what does it do
its a TRANSFORMER it steps down high voltage casually 120V or240V to 24AC which powers the low voltage control

what is this and what does it do
its a CONTACTOR and is basically a heavy duty electric switch it controls flow of high voltage to your air conditioner and compressor & condenser fan motor

what is this
its a DUAL RUN CAPACITOR an electrical component that provides starting and running power to both the fan motor and the compressor HERM(compressor) Fan(fan motor)COM(common)

whats that by the compressor
compressor start relay its used in refrigeration and HVAC systems which controls the flow of electricity to start and run the compressor motor

what are these
this is a heat sequencer (WC)and its used to control the timed activation of heating elements and the blower fan in a electric furnace or heat pump

whats this
its a Fan Relay (GC) A component that controls the operation of the blower fan in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. It engages and disengages the fan based on the thermostat settings to maintain desired indoor temperatures.

what is this
this is a contactor(YC) and is basically a heavy-duty electric switch. It controls the flow of high voltage to your air conditioner and compressor & condenser fan motor.
what componets in the refrigeration cycle reject heat
its the condensor

the lower voltage(24V)that tells componets what to do is referred to as what type of voltage
low control voltage

what is this
its a metering device or TXV it regulates the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator, ensuring efficient heating or cooling by controlling the amount of refrigerant that enters based on the cooling demand.

whats this and what does it do
its a CONDENSER and its job is to reject heat (drop the temperature) of the refrigerant to its condensing(saturation) temperature then to further reject heat until the refrigerant fully turns to liquid the reason it must fully turn liquid is that in order for the refrigerant to boil in the Evaporator it must first liquid to boil

whats this and what does it do
its a COMPRESSOR it pressurizes low pressure vapor into high pressure but it also causes the temperature of the gas to increase as stated in the gas laws an increase in pressure causes an increases in temp and a decrease in valume
after refrigerant leaves the evaporator where does it go
compressor , condenser, metering divice

What is this
This is a manifold gauge
