Prayer for Choosing a relationship with God
Genesis 2:9 = The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:18 = 18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for[f] him.”
Lord you have given us free will (G2:9), and allow me to use my free will to choose and establish a relationship with you, and in turn allow me to gain the closeness which you had with Adam in G2:18 so that you can speak directly to me.
Prayer for walking the righteous predetermined path, the one God set for you.
Genesis 2:9 = The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Lord, just as you planted the tree of knowledge despite knowing what Adam and Eve would do (G2:9) is a display of your foreknowledge and our ability to choose whether we walk the righteous path, please allow me to align with your path and walk righteously accorfing to your plans.
Prayer for passivity, submission and trust in God
Genesis 2:21-22 = So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made[i] into a woman and brought her to the man
Lord, allow me to submit myself to you and bring myself to complete passivity and complete trust in your plan, just as you put Adam into a deep sleep and then laid your hand on him to bless him with Eve, please accept my trust and passivity so that you may lay your hand on me and my life.
Prayer for commitment
Genesis 2:24 = 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Lord, in the situation where I have a wife, or where you may bless me with one, allow me to commit myself completely to her, so that we can become one flesh in your name.
