fields/holes in the ground where garbage is dumped and then covered in soil

using materials for new products of the same type (aluminum cans to aluminum cans)

waste disposal site where thin layers of waste are spread, compacted, then covered with clay or plastic foam

solid waste

unwanted or discarded material -- not liquid or gas

waste management

managing wastes to reduce their environmental harm without trying to necessarily reduce waste

reducing the amount of waste produced -- reuse reduce recycle

secondary recycling

waste materials turned into new products, like tires to road surface
