Frequency
The number of times a value of the data occurs
Relative frequency
The proportion of the frequency of a value to the total number of the outcomes (frequency/sum of all frequencies)
Cumulative frequency
The sum of the previous relative frequencies (relative frequency + sum of all relative frequencies that came before it)

Response variable
The specific factor, outcome, or result that is measured and observed in an experiment
Lurking variable
A hidden factor not included in a study that affects the relationship between the variables being measured
Placebo
A fake treatment or inactive substance, such as a sugar pill or saline injection, that has no active medical effect
Blind experiment
A research study where information about who receives a specific treatment or condition is hidden to prevent bias
