Administrator with the will annexed

A person appointed by the court to administer the estate of a testate person who has not named an executor or whose named executor(s) fail to qualify

County administrator

A public official who is appointed to act as an administrator of an unrepresented estate if no one of a higher priority qualifies

someone acting as a personal representative of the decedent without having the requisite authority to do so

Letters of administration

A document which evidences the appointment and authority to administer an intestate estate

Letters of administration with the will annexed

A document which evidences the appointment and authority to administer a testate estate that is unrepresented

Letters testamentary

represent written proof of the executor’s authority to act on behalf of the decedent

Temporary administrator

administer and preserve the estate until a permanent replacement is appointed

incapable of carrying out the duties associated with the role
