Confirmed reservation
A seat booking officially acknowledged by the
airline.
No-show
A passenger who fails to use their reserved flight
without canceling in advance.
Reconfirmation
A required action by the passenger to confirm
their seat before departure.
Rerouting
A change of route, airline, or flight details after
ticket issuance.
Refund
The payment of a full or partial fare refund for
unused travel.
Revalidation
Procedure for amending a previously arranged
flight reservation.
Booking form
A form completed by a travel agent, providing full
customer details and purchase conditions.
Standby
A passenger without a confirmed reservation, waiting for an available seat.
Status
The reservation status at ticket issuance: OK (confirmed), RQ/WL (request/waitlisted), NS (no seat), SA (standby seat available).
Waitlist
Passengers waiting for a space on a fully booked flight.
Airport service charge / Airport tax / Departure tax
Charge levied by a city or state at the time of a passenger’s departure. It may be collected at the time of ticketing.
Boarding pass
A document allowing a passenger to board an
aircraft after check-in.
