Socially significant belief
a belief that can affect the welfare of someone other than the believer
Hypothesis
anything that may be proposed to our belief
Live hypothesis
psychologically possible for a person to accept
Dead hypothesis
not psychologically possible for a person to accept

a decision (choice) between two hypotheses
Live option
a choice between two live hypotheses
Dead option
a choice between one or more dead hypotheses
Forced option
one must choose one or the other hypothesis
Avoidable option
one can avoid choosing altogether
Momentous option
a unique and irreversible choice of personal significance
Trivial option
non-unique, reversible, and/or personally significant
Genuine option
an option that is live, forced, and momentous
