Why is important to check the providers order with the MAR

To ensure the order get correctly transcribed into the MAR

Before giving a paitent a dose, and going thoruhg the 7 rights what do you need to check on the medication order

1) Paitent full name
2) Name of drug

3) Dosage

4) Route of Adminstration

5) Frequency or time or administration

6) INdication for use (PRN use only)

7) Date or order expiration

8} Prescriber Signature

Before starting the medication adminstration process with the 7 rights what are important things to check before even starting

1) Make sure the Medication order is all good. Correct name dose provider sig ETC

2) Check the MAR with the providers order

When looking the at the medication order what are red flags

Bad handwriting

Unusally large or small dose

Wrong order vibe
