Passive Communication
Avoids conflict, gives up control, and suppresses own needs to please others.
Aggressive Communication
Demanding, abrasive, hostile, and disregards others’ feelings/needs.
Passive-Aggressive Communication
Covertly expresses hostility through sarcasm, sabotage, or silent treatment.
Assertiveness
The direct, honest, and respectful expression of one’s needs, wants, feelings, and boundaries.
Small Group
A collection of 3–15 people who interact regularly, share common goals, influence one another, and develop a sense of belonging or interdependence.
Task-Oriented Group
A group formed to accomplish a specific goal or task, where communication is structured around getting the job done.
Team
A group with strong interdependence, clear roles, shared leadership, and a unified commitment to a common purpose.
