Style Summary
Located at the top of each page on a tech pack, is identical on each page, and includes style number, season, fabric, size info, date style began, fit type, revision dates, and sample status.
Points of Measure
POM - Shows where to measure for sample size.
Tolerance
Refers to the allowable amount of difference between the spec measurement and the actual sample measurement.
Grade Rules
Defines how to convert the sample into other sizes ordered by the buyer.
Bill of Materials
BOM - Used to determine what components to order for one unit.
Dyed to Match
DTM - Describes color matching for threads or trims.
How to Measure (Rules)
Place the tape at the measurement starting point, and press firmly.
Walk the tape across the garment to the end point, pressing the tape against the garment at intervals along the way, and press down at the end to determine the measurement.
Measure to the nearest 1/8-inch.
Note the measurement on the sample evaluation sheet in pencil.
Proceed through all the points of measure (POM).

Grading
Taking the perfected sample size pattern and increasing it for larger sizes, and decreasing it for smaller sizes.
Personal Sketches
Usually hand sketches. Designers use personal idea or inspiration notebooks. Showcases a designer's creative process.

Fashion Sketches
Figure drawings used for formal presentations.

Floats
A simplified fashion drawing without a figure.

Flats (Technical Sketches)
Two-dimensional drawings that show specs. More like a blueprint than a sketch.

Croquis
An outline drawing of a fashion figure or model.
