Insight learning
A mental process in which a sudden, complete and an unexpected solution to a problem is achieved.
4 Steps of Insight Learning
Preparation: The person attempts to solve the problem in many different ways.
Incubation: The person temporarily stops actively trying to solve the problem
Insight: An 'Aha!’ moment when a solution is suddenly clear
Verification: Testing if the solution works
Latent learning
Learning that occurs without behavioral signs. Learning occurs without reinforcement but may not become apparent until a reason (reinforcement) occurs.
Cognitive maps
Mental representations of situations which we build without being conditioned to do so.
Observational Learning
The acquisition of information, skills, or behavior through watching the performance of others, either directly or via such media as films and videos.
Bandura’s Four Key Factors to Observational Learning
 Attention: Attend the model
Retention: Remember the model’s example
Reproduction: Imitate the model
Motivation: We are most likely to repeat a modeled behavior if we receive reinforcement
