Language, movement planning/sequencing, analysis, logic, mathematical calculation, motor and sensory of the right side

Nonverbal processing, creativity, hand-eye coordination, spacial relationships, context and perception, motor and sensory of the left side

What are the symptoms of a frontal lobe lesion?

Paralysis, apraxia, loss of executive function. If the left hemisphere, then Broca’s aphasia is possible which is the inability to speak

What are the symptoms of a parietal lobe lesion?

Sensory awareness deficits, perceptual and awareness deficits, abnormal movement patterns

What are the symptoms of a temporal lobe lesion?

Short and long term memory deficits, if on the L side = Wernicke’s = inability to comprehend spoken language

What are the symptoms of an ACA stroke?

Contralateral lower extremity motor/sensory, loss of b&b, loss of behavioral inhibition, neglect, aphasia

What are some symptoms of an MCA stroke? (most common)

Wernicke’s aphasia in the dominant hemisphere, homonymous hemianopsia, impaired spatial relations, contralateral weakness and sensory loss of face and upper extremities

Contralateral loss of pain and temp, ataxia/athetosis/choreiform, hemiballismus, memory impairment, contralat hemiplegia/hemiparesis, visual agnosia, homonymous hemianopsia

LOC, hemiplegia/tetraplegia, comatose or vegetative stroke, vertigo, nystagmus, dysphagia, dysarthria, locked-in syndrome, ataxia
