Perspective Drawing
The graphic representation in three dimension style of a structure showing how it would appear when finished. The designer usually strives to make the perspective drawing as attractive as possible, adding such details as landscaping, design of fences, gates, etc.
Realistic Perspective Drawing
To achieve a realistic effect, shadows, people, cars and other details are also incorporated in the perspective drawings.

1:50m to 1:80m
Lot Plan
Also called a Site Development Plan or Plot Plan.
Lot Plan / Site Development Plan / Plot Plan
A planar representation that shows the development within the lot. The outline and measurements of the proposed building and its placement on the property are designated, including the bearing and distance of all the lot boundaries and the setback. Directional orientation with a north-pointing arrow should be indicated.
Bearing
A directional measurement of the lot boundaries that is designated on the lot plan.
Distance of Lot Boundaries
The lot plan indicates the distance of all the lot boundaries.
North-Pointing Arrow
Directional orientation that should be indicated on the lot plan.
Lot Plan Usual Scale
1:100m or 1:200m.
Location Plan / Vicinity Map
A planar representation showing the site of the proposed structure.
Site Identification on Vicinity Map
The site must be clearly marked and shown in relation to the nearest major roads, cities, waterways, or distinguishing marks such as church, school buildings, market, and government structures.
Vicinity Map Radius
½ kilometer.
Vicinity Map Scale
Ranges from 1:500m to 1:1,000m
Floor Plan
Drawings showing the outline and arrangement of the rooms inside the building as seen from a horizontal plane cutting through the walls about one meter above the floor line.
Information Shown on Floor Plan
The proposed use, measurements and other important features of each room, which are drawn to scale, are indicated.
Multi-Storey Floor Plan
In multi-storey buildings, a separate floor plan is drawn for each level when the layout of the room is not the same in each floor.
Typical Floor Plan
When two or more levels have the same arrangement, dimensions and features, one typical floor plan representing all the identical floors will suffice to be drawn.

Ground Floor Plan
The example on page 12 is a ground floor plan with a 1:100 m scale.
Second Floor Plan
The example on page 13 is a second floor plan with a 1:100 m scale.
Sample Floor Plan with Column Grid
The example on page 14 shows second floor plan and ground floor plan, both at 1:100 scale, with a column grid.
Main Door
Width = 0.90 m or 1.0 m; Height = 2.10 m
Service Door
Width = 0.90 m or 0.80 m; Height = 2.10 m.
Bedroom Door
Width = 0.80 m; Height = 2.10 m.
Toilet & Bathroom Door
Width = 0.60 m or 0.70 m; Height = 2.10 m.
Door Jamb
The example on page 16 identifies the door jamb as 2" × 6".
Living Room / Dining Room / Bedroom Window
Width per panel = 0.60 m / 0.80 m; Height = 1.20 m.
Toilet & Bathroom Window
Width per panel = 0.50 m / 0.60 m; Height = 0.40 m / 0.50 m / 0.60 m.
Window Jamb
Size of lumber = 2" × 6".

Header
The horizontal upper member of the window jamb, shown at the top of the window opening.
Side Jamb
The vertical side members of the window jamb.
Window Sill
The horizontal lower member of the window jamb.
Mullion
The vertical member shown between window sections/panels.
Door Jamb Parts
Header and Side Jambs. The diagram on page 20 shows one header and two side jambs.
Door Jamb Header
The horizontal upper member of the door jamb.
Door Jamb Side Jamb
The vertical side members of the door jamb.
Identification Mark of Doors
Doors are identified using D1, D2, D3, D4, D5.
Identification Mark of Windows
Windows are identified using W1, W2, W3, W4, W5.
Wall Thickness
CHB thickness + Plaster & Finishing.
CHB Thickness
100 mm in the calculation given by the PPT.
Plaster & Finishing
The PPT gives 20 mm (2 faces) + 10 mm or thicker as part of the wall-thickness calculation.
Minimum Wall Thickness
150 mm minimum thickness according to the PPT calculation.
Wall Thickness Formula
100 mm + 20 (2 faces) + 10 mm (or thicker) = 150 mm minimum thickness.
Column Grid
The floor plan should indicate the column grid.
Architectural Plan Scale
The note says to use 1:100m scale.
Room Dimensions
All room dimensions should be indicated.
