Since they were going to lose the land to the British anyway due to them being in a war with them they decided to just sell it to the U.S. anyway and also enslaved African Americans had defeated the French.

He attacked Seminoles and their land and Spanish military posts. He even replaced a Spanish governor with an American one which was considered an illegal invasion causing them to think that Spain would want to go to war but Spain was equally scared to leave Florida.

People dislike the treaty because they argued that the United States had no right to any Mexican territory other than Texas since they felt the treaty was unjust and that New Mexico and California should be returned to Mexico people liked the treaty since it expanded the United States territory.

Unconstitutional-since it trampled the rights of many citizens, slaves, immigrants, indigenous people (indians), and even other nations for the creation of what we call America
Death and Suffering-It led to many Native Americans deaths and they had to be pulled out of their Native area and put into reservations where they have been used for money and were starved.
War and Conflict-It caused many wars and conflicts with other countries for land such as Mexico,Spain and Great Britain some of which were close calls for war with each other.
Slavery-As the US expanded so did the spread of slavery which some people saw as a problem

Population-There was more space for people to move to which led to an increasing population
More land for farming-There was more agricultural land available which made it possible for merchants and farmers to produce more crops to consume and sell which was good for the economy
