What is Unit testing? When does it occur?
This is basic testing that occurs initially (do the screens contain the right info.? Was anything left out? etc.) occurs during design and development
What is function testing?
This uses test scripts to validate that a system is working as designed for one particular function.
What is integrating testing?
Uses test scripts to check that the system is working as designed for an entire workflow
What is performance testing?
Test that system is properly able to function with high volumes of end users or care providers
What is user acceptance testing?
Healthcare workers test drive the system to ensure it works as designed
What are the 7 phases of an informatics system development?
Analyze and plan, Design, Test, Train, Implement, Maintaining, Evaluate
A group of INs are discussing the need for a new documenting system. What would be the first step they take?
Analyze and plan (Why are we making a new system)
A group of INs have identified the need for a new documenting system. They have identified the purpose of the change and now they are trying to determine what the screen display will look like to enhance care. What phase are they in?
Design
Which phase of system development is key to implementation success?
Training
System Usability
The extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of use.
system optimization
strategies to improve processes, maximize effective use, reduce errors, reduce costs, eliminate workflow inefficiencies, improve clinical decision support, and improve end-user skills and satisfaction with the system
Interoperability
the ability to exchange and use computer information within and across networks
Healthcare analytics
extract data from EHR to observe trends and make communal health improvements as needed
What are three ways to present healthcare analytics
Data visualization, Predicitive analytics, big data
The type of healthcare analytic encompasses a variety of statistical techniques that analyze current and historical facts to make predictions about future or otherwise unknown events
Predicitive data
What is big data?
comprises the accumulation of healthcare related data from various sources combined with new technologies that allow for the transformation of data to information
This technology uses electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support and promote long distance clinical health care
Telehealth
This technology supports delivery of all types of medical, diagnostic, and treatment related services, involves only remote clinical services
Telemedicine
This technology allows consumers to stay safe and independent in their own homes by the use of such things like a digital medication reminder
Telecare
What is the framework of informatics
DIKW
Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom
What are genomics?
involves using genomic information about a person as part of their clinical care
What is pharmocgenetics
uses information about a person's genetic makeup, or genome, to choose the drugs and drug doses that are likely to work best for that particular person
Discrete entities that are described without interpretation
data
Data that has been interpreted, organized or structured
information
Information that is synthesized so that relationships are identified
knowledge
Appropriate use of knowledge
Wisdom
The use of apps to track such things like calorie intake is referred to as
mHealth
What is mHealth
The use of mobile devices and global networks to deliver health services and information.
