Label the Circulatory System
Heart chamber: Atria
-blood receiving chambers (up)
-low blood pressure
-thin-walled
Heart chamber: Ventricles
-pump blood into circluation via arteries
-high blood pressure
-thick-walled
Septum
muscular wall that separates the heart
Valves
atriventricular valves and tricuspid valves
prevent blood from flowing the wrong way into the heart
How does the heart pump blood?
deoxygenated blood enters through superior and inferior vena cava
right atrium —> right ventricle
right venticle —> pulmonary artery
pulmonary artery brings artery brings blood to the lungs
in the lungs, blood releases CO2 and picks up oxygen
pulmonary vein bring oxygen-rich blood back to the heart
left atrium —> left ventricle
left ventricle —> aorta
Aorta —> capillaries
Capillaries bring blood and nutrients to tissues
Epithelial Tissue
lines inside and outside of heart to protect it from friction
mucus keeps components lubricated
Nervous tissue
Regulates heartbeat and contriction and dilation of blood vessels
Sympathetic: heart beat increases, fight or flight
Parasympathetic: heart beat decreases, rest and digest
Baroreceptors: regulates blood pressure
Mucle tissue
Cardiac muscle: helps heart contract as one unit
Artery
Carry oxygeb rich blood away from heart.
The pulmonary artery brings Deoxygenated blood tho.
Veins
Bring Deoxygenated blood to the heart. P. Vein brings oxygenated blood
