Identity:Identity based on interactions with others
Self evaluation: Interactions with ourselves

What about the self-discrepancy theory's IDEAL self, ACTUAL self and OUGHT self?
Rogers: The way we would LIKE to be vs the way we CURRENTLY think of ourselves
Self-discrepancy: Ideal is ALSO how we would LIKE to be.
Actual is similar to REAL as its how we currently view OURSELVES
Ought is the way WE think OTHERS want us us to be

Preconventional(Child): Punishment/Reward
Conventional (adolescent): Nice or obeys Law

What is considered a peer group?
A group that is elf-selected and holds similar interests,age and status
Ex: A college student is part of a club with other students\
NOT an Ex: All public officials of the same age in the same city BECAUSE they may have different statuses/positions!
What is aligning actions? What is ingratiation? What is the tactical self?
Aligning actions: Use excuses to make questionable behavior acceptable
Ingratiation: Making oneself likable to others to gain favor.
Tactical self: A version of oneself presented in specific social contexts to achieve certain goals.
What is the difference between incongruence and social comparison
Incongruence is dependent on internal misalignment while social comparison determines self-worth based on their comparison to others.
