How do we measure and improve wellbeing?
Human wellbeing means different things to different people. In today's world, modern technology lets people see how wealthier populations live, which makes many people want a similar lifestyle.
What are the qualitative indicators?
These measure people's opinions, feelings, or experiences about their wellbeing. They are subjective and harder to compare between different places or times.
What are the catorgories of wellbeing indicators?
These are measures used to show how good people's quality of life is in a country or place. They look at social, technological, environmental, economic, and political factors.

Human Development Index
What is HDI?
A measure used to compare countries based on health, education, and income to show the level of human development.
What does HPI stand for?
Happy Planet Index
What is HPI?
A measure that shows how well countries support happy, healthy lives while using natural resources sustainably.
What is life expectancy?
The average number of years a person is expected to live. It is used as an indicator of a country's overall wellbeing.
What is wellbeing?
The overall quality of life, including a person's health, happiness, safety, and living conditions.
What is Child Mortality?
The number of children who die before the age of five. Countries with higher child mortality usually have lower life expectancy.
What is Maternal Mortality?
The number of women who die from pregnancy or childbirth. It is much higher in less economically developed countries than in more economically developed countries.
What is the impact of poverty on wellbeing?
Poverty limits access to basic needs like food, health, education, and clean water, harming wellbeing and opportunities.
What are the UN Sustainable Development Goals?
The UN Sustainable Development Goals are 17 global goals, like ending poverty, improving health and education, achieving gender equality, and protecting the planet.
What does GDP stand for?
Gross domestic product
