Universality
The incorrect assumption that behaviours are universal to all humans and that gender has no impact
Andocentrism
Taking male behaviour as the norm and that female behaviour is deviant, inferior or abnormal
Gynocentrism
Taking female behaviour as the norm and that male thinking is abnormal, deviant or inferior
Alpha Bias
When differences between men and women are exaggerated so stereotypes between sexes are emphasised
Beta bias
Differences between men and women are minimised so findings are generalised to both genders without additional validation
