What is force?
the push or pull of an object.
What are the types of forces?
contact and non-contact forces
What are the types of contact forces?
friction, normal, tension, applied force, air resistance, spring force.
What are the type of non-contact forces?
gravitational, electrostatic, magnetic.
What is an applied force?
An applied force is a push or pull applied to an object by a person or another object.
What is tension?
the pulling force that is transmitted through a string, rope, cable or chain when pulled on opposite ends.
What is a normal force?
the supporting push a surface applies to an object in contact with it.
What is air resistance?
a type of frictional force that opposes the motion of an object moving through the air.
What is friction?
friction is the force that resists movement when two surfaces rub against each other.
