McCulloch v. Maryland (1819)

Missouri Compromise of 1820
Henry Clay suggested Maine enter as free state, Missouri as a slave state, and prohibited the spread of slavery north of 36°30′ , preserving balance in US Senate - first LA Purchase territory to apply for statehood
Monroe Doctrine (1823)
Written by John Quincy Adams - US foreign policy stating that further efforts by European nations to colonize land or interfere with states in North or South America would be viewed as acts of aggression, requiring U.S. intervention.
Era of Good Feelings, 1815-24
A name for President Monroe's two terms - a period of strong nationalism, economic growth, and territorial expansion. Since the Federalist party dissolved after the War of 1812, there was only one political party and no partisan conflicts.
