What is the freedom of speech?
The right to say what you like, including freedom of the press and the media.
What is the freedom of assemble and freedom to associate with others?
The right to gather together and protest peacefully.
What is the freedom of movement?
The right to go where you want within the law
What is the freedom from arbitrary arrest?
A person cannot be arresed or detained without a valid legal reason, proper evidence or the due process.
What is the freedom from detention without trial?
A person cannot be held in custody by the authorities for a prolonged period without being formally charged with a crime and given a fair trial.
What is the freedom of religion and conscience?
The right that individuals hold to practice and change their religious or non-religious beliefs freely and without fear of punishment or discrimination.
What is the right to privacy?
The right of individuals to keep their personal life, communications and information free from unnecessary or unjustified inteference.
What are legal barriers?
