Radial Symmetry
A characteristic of biological and geometric structures where similar parts or components radiate outward from a central point, like the spokes of a wheel.
Bilateral Symmetry
A type of symmetry found in organisms and objects in which there is a distinct and generally equal division into two mirrored halves along a single plane, so that left and right sides are mirror images.
Spiral
Geometric designs or shapes involving a continuous and curved progression of lines or curves radiating outward from a central point or axis, winding around a fixed center at a consistent or increasing distance.
Ocean Waves
Regular and often repetitive movements or disturbances on the surface of the ocean generated by various natural forces.
Sand Dune Patterns
Distinct shapes, formations, and features created by wind-blown sand particles in desert and coastal environments resulting from the interaction between wind and landscape.
Tessellation
A geometric arrangement of shapes, often regular polygons like triangles, squares, or hexagons, that completely covers a surface or plane without any gaps or overlaps.
Sequence
An ordered list or arrangement of numbers, objects, or elements following a specific rule or pattern.
Term
Each individual element in a sequence.
Subscript
A notation often used to denote the position or order of a term in a sequence, such as a1, a2, or a3.
Finite Sequence
A type of sequence that has a limited number of terms.
Infinite Sequence
A type of sequence that extends indefinitely.
Arithmetic Sequence
A sequence where each term is obtained by adding a constant difference to the previous term.
Geometric Sequence
A sequence where each term is obtained by multiplying the previous term by a constant ratio.
Pattern
A repetitive and recognizable arrangement or design of elements, objects, shapes, or events observed in mathematics, art, nature, and everyday life.
Fibonacci Sequence
A famous sequence of numbers where each term is the sum of the two preceding terms, such as 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,….
Square Numbers Sequence
A sequence consisting of perfect square numbers where each term is the square of an integer, such as 1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,….
Prime Numbers Sequence
A sequence consisting of natural numbers greater than 1 that have no divisors other than 1 and themselves, such as 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29,….
Triangular Numbers Sequence
A sequence of numbers representing dots in equilateral triangular arrangements, where each term is the sum of consecutive positive integers like 1,3,6,10,15,21,28,36,45,….
Checkerboard Pattern
A classic geometric pattern consisting of alternating squares of two contrasting colors, typically black and white.
Herringbone Pattern
A pattern created by arranging rectangular shapes or parallelograms in a slanted, zigzag fashion.
Zebra Stripes
Distinctive black and white stripes that serve as camouflage and may help deter biting insects.
Tree Rings
Concentric rings visible in the cross-section of a tree trunk that represent the tree's growth cycles.
Mosaic Pattern
A decorative pattern created by arranging small, colored tiles or pieces of glass to form intricate designs.
Barcode Pattern
A series of parallel lines of varying widths used for encoding information, such as product details, readable by a scanner.
