Kell Blood Group
A blood group system with 36 antigens, significant for hemolytic transfusion reactions (HTR) and hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN).
Kell Antigens
Detected only in RBC membrane, with 'K' being strongly immunogenic and detectable in fetal RBC as early as 10 weeks.
Duffy Blood Group
A blood group system with antigens Fya and Fyb, involved in immune response and associated with malaria susceptibility.
Jidd Blood Group
A blood group system associated with delayed hemolytic transfusion reactions and characterized by antibodies that are IgG.
Lutheran Blood Group
A blood group consisting of Lua and Lub antigens, with Lua being low frequency and Lub high frequency.
Kx Blood Group
A blood group involved in the expression of Kell antigens, with Kx antigen anchored on RBC membranes.
Kellnull Phenotype/K0
A phenotype that lacks all Kell antigens yet expresses Kx antigen, which may lead to the presence of certain alloantibodies.
McLeod Phenotype
A condition characterized by decreased red cell survival and associated with Kx antigens not expressed on red cells.
Duffy Antibodies (Anti-Fya and Anti-Fyb)
Antibodies produced in response to Duffy antigens, often observed in transfusions or pregnancy, and noted for their dosage effect.
Kidd Antibodies
Associated with delayed hemolytic transfusion reactions; agglutination is enhanced in homozygous expression.
