Domain
The total set of all possible x-values the graph covers.
Range
The total set of all possible y-values the graph covers.
Symmetry
A property where the graph looks identical on both sides of a line or point.
Even/Odd
Categories based on symmetry: Even (reflects over y-axis), Odd (rotates around origin).
f(x)
The height (y-value) of the graph at a specific horizontal input (x).
Solve for x
Finding the horizontal location where the graph reaches a specific height (y).
Zeros/Intercepts
Where the graph touches or crosses the x-axis (y = 0).
y-intercept
Where the graph crosses the vertical axis (x = 0).
Positive Interval
The x-range where the graph sits above the x-axis (y > 0).
Negative Interval
The x-range where the graph sits below the x-axis (y < 0).
Relative Extrema
Peaks or valleys (local high/low points) where the graph changes direction.
Absolute Extrema
The single highest or lowest point on the entire graph.
Increasing
The x-range where the graph is heading "uphill" (left to right).
Decreasing
The x-range where the graph is heading "downhill" (left to right).
Constant
The x-range where the graph is perfectly flat (slope = 0).
End Behavior
The trend of the graph as x moves toward extreme left (-∞) or right (∞).
Avg. Rate of Change
The slope between two specific points on the graph: (y₂
