Fairy Tale
A story, often intended for children, that takes place in a magical land with fantastical beings such as elves, goblins, wizards, and fairies.
Fantastical
So strange or extreme that it does not seem to be true or reasonable.
Tempest
A storm.
Hovel
A small dwelling, often dirty or wretched.
Acquaintance
A person that you know, but not a close friend.
Acquire
To obtain (or get as one's own).
Academic
Someone who teaches at a college or studies as a part of their job.
Structure
The way a text is organized ("Struct" means build.)
Foreshadowing
The author's use of clues to hint about something that will happen later in the story.
Repetition
The act of repeating something.
Dialogue
A conversation between characters (The author will indent each time a different character speaks.)
Incident
An event or occurrence.
Propel
To move forward.
Reveal
To make something known; to make something visible.
Aspect
A feature or characteristic.
Provoke
To cause a reaction.
