Digital age
The era characterized by ubiquitous computing and digital technology embedded in almost all aspects of human activity.
Information age
Period focused on generation, processing, storage, and distribution of information through digital networks.
Media
Means of communication that uses tools to connect people and share content (e.g., TV, radio, internet, social media).
Message
The content itself that creators own and deliver through media.
Medium
The tool or channel used to send a message from sender to receiver.
Messenger
The entity delivering the message; in the digital age, often social media users rather than professional journalists.
User-generated content (UGC)
Content created and owned by users of a system; grows with internet access and social media.
Blog
A web-based log or journal; a blog post can be publicly visible.
Blogger
A person who writes and maintains a blog.

Very large, complex data sets whose value lies in their analysis to inform decisions.

An organization that uses digital processes and storage to reduce or eliminate paper.
