Changes made in Agriculture in the IR
Machinery was introduced to the fields, like the steam powered plough and harvester. Instead of slow labour intensive farming (done by animals and by hand), agriculture became mechanised and efficient.
AGRICULTURE before IR
Most crops were reaped by scythes and sickles, and ploughs were led by cattle. It was TIME CONSUMING and required lots of HUMAN and ANIMAL labour.
INDUSTRY before IR.
Before the IR, most goods were produced in what was known as the COTTAGE INDUSTRY. This was when products were made by hand and in country homes or small workshops. This was SMALL SCALE, LABORIOUS and TIME CONSUMING.
