Computer
An electronic device that accepts data, processes it, and produces output.
Input
The process of taking information from the outside world into a computer.
Output
The result of the processing done on data, such as printed reports or displayed images.
Embedded computer
A computer that is an internal component of another machine.
Microcomputer
A small computer with a microprocessor as its CPU, memory, and I/O facilities.
Workstation
A high-end microcomputer designed for technical or scientific applications.
Mainframe
A powerful computer used for large-scale computing purposes.
Supercomputer
The fastest type of computer, used for specialized applications requiring immense calculations.
Memory
The workspace of a computer where application instructions and data are held during operation.
RAM
Random Access Memory, a type of volatile memory used for storing data temporarily.
Volatile memory
Memory whose contents are erased when the system's power is turned off.

Input device

A program that translates high-level programming languages into machine code.

A set of instructions that tells hardware what to do.

Any part of a computer that has a physical structure.
DPI
Dots per inch, a measure of the resolution of printed images.
CRT
Cathode Ray Tube, an older type of display technology.
LCD
Liquid Crystal Display, a modern display technology often used in monitors and screens.
Printer
An output device that produces text and graphics on paper.
