• Use measuring cylinder to measure 30cm3 of dilute hydrochloric acid

• Transfer acid into polystyrene cup

• Stand inside beaker

• Use thermometer to record temp of acid

• Use measuring cylinder to measure 5cm3 of sodium hydroxide solution

• transfer to poly cup

• Fit plastic lid to cup and place thermometer through cup

• Use thermometer to stir solution

• Record temp rise on thermometer

• Record highest temp

• Repeat with 5cm3 more sodium hydroxide until reached 40cm3
