What are glaciers?
Glaciers are large masses of ice shaped by rivers, they flow very slowly.
What is abrasion?
Abrasion is the glaciers moving through a landscape which is a form of erosion, rocks can get frozen into them too.
What is plucking?
a type of glacial erosion where a glacier freezes onto a rock and then pulls them away from it.
What are corrie lakes and how did the get there?
are small, circular or bowl-shaped lakes found in armchair-shaped hollows (corries) on the side of a mountain.
What is an arete?
An arete is a sharp, knife edge ridge of land formed when two neighbouring glaciers erode back to back creating a narrow peak between them.
What are erratics? How did they get there?
They are large rocks that were transported by a glacier from their original location.

The Lake District is England largest national park that is known for its spectacular scenery, villages and is a popular destination for walking and boating.
