What is brood parasitism?
Laying eggs in the nest of another individual so that the host provides all parental care.
What is conspecific brood parasitism?
Parasitizing nests of the same species.
What is interspecific brood parasitism?
Parasitizing nests of a different species.
How do parasitic chicks outcompete host chicks?
They hatch earlier, beg louder, grow faster, or eject host eggs.
Why do some hosts still accept parasitic eggs?
