Colonial Rivalries (Causes of the Seven Years' War)
Historic European rivalries extended from Europe to their colonies in the Americas, particularly between Great Britain, France, and Spain.

Albany Congress
Meeting of representatives from several colonies in Albany, New York in 1754 to coordinate colonial defense.
Albany Plan of Union
Developed by Benjamin Franklin, it provided for an intercolonial government and a system for recruiting troops and collecting taxes from the colonies for their common defense.
Treaty of Paris (1763)
Peace treaty in 1763 where [1] Great Britain acquired French Canada and Spanish Florida, and [2] Spain was given the French Louisiana Territory, ending French power on the continent.
