Pseudomonas aeruginosa
A type of bacteria known for its biofilm formation, motility through flagella and pili, antibiotic resistance, and as an opportunistic pathogen affecting immunocompromised individuals.
Vibrio alginolyticus
A bacterium that possesses adhesion molecules (capsule) and extracellular products, such as hemolysins.
Vibrio fluvialis
A bacterium characterized by the production of hemolysins and proteases.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus
A bacterium known for its hemolytic properties and cytotoxic effects.
Cetrimide media
A selective media used to isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa by disrupting nitrogen and phosphorus levels in other bacteria.
Mannitol Sugar Agar (MSA)
A selective and differential media that differentiates between mannitol fermenters (yellow) and non-fermenters (red), used primarily for isolating Staphylococcus species.
Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salt Sucrose (TCBS) Agar
A selective and differential media used for isolating Vibrio species.
Halophile
An organism that thrives in environments with high salt concentrations, such as certain Vibrio species.
Biofilm
A complex aggregation of microorganisms marked by the adherence to surfaces, commonly formed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Opportunistic pathogen
An organism that causes disease in immunocompromised individuals, exemplified by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
