Natural rights
Locke philosophy is based on the idea that all individuals have certain natural rights – life, liberty, and property – that cannot be surrendered or taken away
Rights from nature
Locke argued that these rights are not granted by any ruler or government but are inherited by nature. The role of government is to protect these rights
Social contract
Locke believed in the social contract, where individuals consent to form a government to protect their rights. If the government fails to protect these rights, the people who have the right to overthrow it.

Locke theories influenced democratic movements, including the American Revolution, by providing a foundation for limited government and popular sovereignty
