Anatomical Position

superior

inferior

anterior

located toward the front of the body or a body part.

posterior

situated at or toward the back of the body

medial

closer to the middle or center line of the body

lateral

a body part is located farther away from the middle of the body

proximal

a body part is closer to the center of the body, the trunk, or the point where a limb attaches
