What are metals?
Elements that have a metallic shine or lustre, are malleable and ductile, have high melting points and boiling points and are good conductors of both heat and electricity.
What is a non-metal?
Elements that generally have low melting and boiling points, do not conduct heat or electricity, have little shine or lustre and in solid form are usually brittle or soft. Many exist as gases at room temperature and pressure.
What is a Metalloid? (Semi-metal)
Elements that behave as non-metals both chemically and physically however they can conduct electricity.
What are the two elements that exist as liquids at room temperature and pressure?
Mercury (Hg) and Bromine (Br)
What is a compound?
