Quantitative data
Data that expresses a certain quantity, amount, or range, and can be counted or measured and given a numerical value.
Quantified
To express or measure the quantity of something.
Hypothesis
The predicted answer to a research question that normally describes a situation or event and can answer the questions of what and how.
Goal of a quantitative approach
Finding evidence to either support or contradict an idea or hypothesis.
Examples of quantitative data
Numerical values such as revenue in dollars or length in centimeters (cm).
Quantitative data display methods
Visual representations including graphs, charts, tables, and maps.
Statistical analysis
The field of analysis that commonly uses structured quantitative data to interpret information.
