Contingency Shaped Behavior
Behavior influenced by direct contact with reinforcing or punishing consequences.
Rule-Governed Behavior
Behavior controlled by verbal or written descriptions of contingencies without direct contact.
ABC Model
A framework in behavior analysis where A stands for Antecedent, B for Behavior, and C for Consequence.
Stimulus Control
The degree to which a behavior is elicited in the presence of a specific stimulus.
Immediate Behavior Change
A rapid change in behavior that occurs shortly after a rule is presented, without the need for experiencing consequences.
Delayed Behavior Change
Behavior change that occurs gradually after multiple contacts with consequences.
SD (Discriminative Stimulus)
A stimulus in the presence of which a particular response will be reinforced.
Reinforcement
A consequence that follows a behavior and increases the likelihood of that behavior occurring again.
Punishment
A consequence that follows a behavior and decreases the likelihood of that behavior occurring again.
Verbal Behavior
Communication that conveys rules or guidelines, influencing rule-governed behavior.
Rigid and Inflexible
Describes rule-governed behavior that may not adapt easily to changes in the environment.
Environmental Sensitivity
The extent to which behavior changes occur in response to variations in environmental conditions.
Discrete Trial Training
A structured method of teaching where behaviors are reinforced through immediate consequences.
Experience with Consequence
The actual contact with reinforcing or punishing outcomes that influences future behavior.
Behavior Management
The practice of guiding and modifying behavior through various strategies and principles.
