The North had a material advantage while the South had tactical advantage, the North also owened many of the factories and also had more railroads, food, and weapons where as the soth had the home territory benefits and better genrals and were also more motivated.
Lincolns plan
1) 10% of Southerners sign a loyalty oath
2) Abolish slavery, provide school
3) No requirement for AA voting or have political rights
4) No punishment for Confederates
Andrew Johnson’s plan
1) Six weeks of punishments for top confederates
2) Everyone swears loyalty oath
3) Rich, re-apply for citizenship
4) New constitution, military removed

They tried to impeach him by saying he committed a crime but he did not end up getting impeached because he won him by one vote, allowing him to remain in office
