Why are defense mechanisms crucial?
Without a way to mitigate pain, not many generations of humans exist. Humans live in uncertain environments and are subjected to psychological pain at a given time. To keep thriving, defense mechanisms are needed

Need safety. need love, need esteem, need self actualization


Psychological adjustment
when someone learns certain responses to cope with the change that happens

realization of that adjustment strategies that work

Found in struggling relationships where not being emotionally mature, without maturity resorts to go back to tantrums

Confidence, getting along with people, accept responsibility for things that happen and work with it, accepts challenges
