Simple Random Sample (SRS)

Every member of the population has

an equal chance of being selected

Systematic Sample

Members are chosen using a pattern or pre­-determined rule

Convenience Sample

Members are chosen because they are easily

accessible

Self­-selected Sample

Members volunteer to participate in the survey

Stratified Random Sample

The population is divided into distinct groups,

and members are selected randomly from each

group

Cluster Sample

The population is divided into subgroups; then a

sample of subgroups is taken and every

member within each subgroup is chosen
