A process through which you send messages to and receive messages from others.

Communication Styles

passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, assertive

assertive communication

a communication style characterized by confidence and consideration for others

telephone triage

determining which caller's needs are the most urgent and where the call must be directed

open-ended questions

questions a person is to answer in his or her own words

active listening

paying close attention to what someone is saying and communicating

passive aggressive

A person who uses sarcasm, or mutters to themselves.

passive communication

A form of communication in which the individual fails to say what is meant

aggressive communication

interacting with another in an overpowering and forceful manner to meet one's own needs at the expense of others

technical reading

A skill used to comprehend science,buisness,or technology publications

Scientific Communication

a type of technical communication used by scientists and non-scientists to provide information and promote understanding

Symptoms

knowledge of health information needed to make good choices about your health

Stereotyping

Judging someone on the basis of one's perception of the group to which that person belongs

prejudice

preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience
