Radiologic Technology
An Allied Health profession responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to humans and animals for diagnostic, research or interventional purposes.
JRCERT
Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology; accredits and approves college or hospital-based education programs in radiologic technology.
ARRT
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; credentials radiologic technologists and gives the national registry exam.
Continuing Qualifications Requirements (CQR)
An assessment exam that must be taken every 10 years to remain ARRT certified.
Registration
An official entry of a list of people certified as eligible by qualifications; mandatory and renewed yearly through the ARRT.
RT (R)
The abbreviated credential designation for radiography.
Licensure
Issued by a state's radiologic health board or equivalent agency, granting permission for an individual to perform x-ray and related procedures in that state.
24 CEUs
The 24 continuing education units that must be completed every 2 years, expiring on the last day of the technologist's birth month.
ASRT
American Society of Radiologic Technologists; a nationally recognized organization providing continuing education credits and information pertaining to the field of radiography.
